Vintage Conditions
June, when flowering occurs was warmer, sunnier and drier than average which resulted in a good crop. The rest of the summer brought mainly average conditions although a sunny September and warm start to October enabled the grapes to ripen nicely for the harvest in mid-October.
Winemaker's Tasting Notes
This wine is a lovely bright straw yellow colour with hints od green and a fine bead with delicate mousse. The nose displays powerful flavours of lemon and baked apple, jasmine, butter and vanilla with hints of caramel and marzipan.
There is a clean fresh green apple entry on the palate quickly followed by classic Chardonnay chacters of baked lemon and minerals. The bubbles are soft and give a lovely delicacy to the wine. The long finish is buttery and toasty - a sophisticated and elegant wine.
